ELMSFORD, N.Y. Did you know that Elmsford is home to several record-breaking stores, banks and eateries?
While the village is only 1.1 square miles, completely surrounded by unincorporated Greenburgh, and holds many "mom and pop" shops, it is home to a few impressive statistics. Mayor Robert Williams explained Main Street's wonders "in little, old Elmsford."
Elmsford's new Burger King is the busiest free-standing building (not attached to a food court or another building) in the chain worldwide. Out of those not joined with a rest stop or in a mall, Elmsford's receives the most foot traffic.
While Elmsford only has one Dunkin' Donuts (Route 9A's is in Greenburgh, as is the one across from the Crossroads Shopping Center) it is in the top five of the franchise's most frequented donut shops in the chain worldwide.
The Hudson Valley Bank, located next to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, is the third busiest in the whole Hudson Valley Bank chain.
Elmsford's Extended Stay Hotel, as well as the Bed, Bath and Beyond superstore, are also two of the biggest in their respective chains.
