Did You Know... Memorable Ardsley Mayor Moment

ARDSLEY, N.Y. - One of Ardsley Mayor Jay Leon's most memorable moments in office came right at the beginning of his career. It came when he was running for a spot on the Board of Trustees, thanks to Congresswoman Nita Lowey.

When Leon ran for office in 2003, he held a fundraiser at his home. Lowey not only made an appearance, she gave a speech about current events and the state of the Democratic party.

"It was one of the most exciting moments of my life to have a U.S. Congresswoman in my house," said Leon. "She has been very supportive of the village and very responsive, as all of our elected officials have."

Leon is a long-time American history buff, interested in government and politics long before he became a politician in 2003. Lowey has been a congresswoman since 1989.
