Edgemont Man Found Dead in Ardsley

ARDSLEY, N.Y. — Ardsley police identified the person found dead Wednesday afternoon at a home lawn on Chimney Pot Lane.

Charles McCarthy, 20, of Edgemont, had died a few hours before a resident saw his body lying on the ground and called 911, police said.

The officers didn’t find any signs of violence on McCarthy’s body, police said.

“We are waiting for the toxicologic results,” said Lt. Anthony Piccolino of Ardsley Police Department, adding that it may take weeks.

Meanwhile, Piccolino said police were in touch with McCarthy’s family and investigating how and why he ended up in the place his body was discovered.

He also said police found out the meaning of the date, 10/18/05, that was tattooed on McCarthy’s body, although he wouldn’t say what it is.

“We don’t think it has to do with the situation at the end, but we do know what the tattoo means,” Piccolino said.
