Edgemont Meeting Canceled; Greenburgh Picking Up Recyclables

GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- A meeting of the Edgemont Community Council was canceled Monday night due to the snowstorm.

Recyclables are piling up in the Town of Greenburgh, so they will be picked up on the usual schedule this week.

A proposed new local law restricting massage parlors in the Town of Greenburgh was among the items on the Edgemont Community Council agenda as well as a discussion of proposed ECC officers for next year. A new date for the regular monthly meeting has not been set.

The Town of Greenburgh, meanwhile, canceled garbage pickups Monday, but announced that recyclables will be picked up as normal this week. "Because recycling is piling up we will keep to the printed calendar for the rest of the week," Greenburgh Supervisor Paul Feiner said.

Other item's on Monday's Edgemont agenda included appointment of both a Nominations Committee to recommend a slate for next year's officers and directors and a Silver Bowl Committee to recommend this year's honoree.  Under the terms of the ECC's bylaws, both committees must be formed by Feb. 15; therefore, if the ECC cannot meet formally before then, the ECC will meet "electronically" to ensure that both committees are duly created and in a position to make their recommendations in time for the ECC's March meeting.
