GREENBURGH, N.Y. - Houses in Greenburgh are slowly able to turn on the lights in their homes as Con Edison is working around the clock to repair electricity.
As of 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, 947 Greenburgh residents and 23 Elmsford residents are still without power as a result of Saturday's nor'easter. Con Edison expects that all the power in the area should be restored by late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning.
Crews from as south as Tennessee and South Carolina, as well as Pennsylvania, Virginia and Long Island have come to Westchester and the surrounding counties to aid in restoring residents' power, said Con Edison. As Greenburgh was hit harder than many towns in the county, they are some of the last to get their power back.
Residents are still cautioned to look out for downed wires and fallen trees, and to call Con Edison if there is any disturbance at 1-800-752-6633.
