The following is the complete text of Ricca's letter to the community:

Good morning EUFSD community member,

So that you are aware, News 12 Westchester reported that an "attempted luring" of a minor female took place in Elmsford yesterday afternoon. The story indicated that the female, (17 to 18 years old), was approached by a male driving a "green pick-up truck" near Knollwood Avenue and Fairmont Street.

The Elmsford Police Department responded to the scene and assessed the situation. At the time of the investigation, it was determined that there was no threat present. The female a Greenburgh resident (who is not an EUFSD student,) was transported safely home by police.

Let us take this time to remember vigilance and awareness are always critical in the interest of community safety. We strongly urge our community members to work with us in reminding our children never to speak with strangers at any time. Accordingly, we also urge our students and community members to report any suspicious individual/vehicle identified in/around the Village immediately to the Elmsford Police.

As always, should you have any questions or concerns at this, or any, situation you are encouraged to contact the EUFSD Superintendent's Office at (914) 592-6632.

Respectfully,

Joseph Ricca

Superintendent of Schools
