Elmsford Village Election Uncontested Tuesday

ELMSFORD, N.Y. - The election for two seats on the Elmsford Board of Trustees will be uncontested Tuesday.

Democratic incumbent Edward Rush will be elected to a fifth two-year term, while running mate Raymond Cordi will earn his first term on the board.

Deputy Mayor William Zimkin, who no longer lives full-time in Elmsford, opted not to seek a seventh term.

Rush is Hartsdale's fire chief. Cordi is a firefighter and paramedic with the Live Oak Engine Company.

Both candidates plan on closely monitoring development in the village, with Cordi particularly interested in filling empty storefronts. They are also concerned about the impact the new Tappan Zee Bridge could have on Elmsford.

Voting will take place March 20 from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Village Hall.
