Equipment Failure Cause Of Thornwood Substation Fire

THORNWOOD, N.Y. -- Investigators say equipment failure was the cause of a Con Edison substation fire that led to a disruption of service on Metro-North's Harlem Line on Sunday, according to LoHud.com.

The fire also caused about 2,700 gallons of transformer oil to spill. Responders used foam to douse the flames and no injuries were reported, LoHud.com said.
