WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – The National Weather Service has posted a flood watch through Monday morning for all of Westchester County.

Forecasters say steady rainfall from a coastal storm will become heavy by early evening and continue through the night. The rain will taper off, they say, to showers by Monday afternoon. Rainfall could approach an inch per hour, with the heaviest rain expected overnight.

A flood watch means there is a potential for flooding in flood-prone areas. Motorists are urged to use caution and not to cross roadways that are heavily laden with water. Homeowners in flood-prone areas are also urged to take the usual precautions.
