This action is necessary to make sure the fire hydrants are in good working order in case of emergencies and to help flush sediment out of the distribution system.
The hydrant flushing and operating action will take place during the day from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and the following areas are affected:
Hartsdale Area, Entire Section. Topland Section, including roads near Ridge road, Sprain Road, Birchwood Lane, Topland Road, Crosshill Road, Hawthorne Way, Harmony Lane and Old farm Lane.
Poets Corner Section, including roads near Secor Road, Holmes Avenue, Moore Street, Burns Street, South Longfellow Street, Bryant Street, Tennyson Street and Whittier Street. Huntly District Section, including roads near Secor Road, Edgewood Road, Dunham Road, Essex Place, eastern Road, Eastway, Ivy Place, Middle way, Melissa drive, Hemlock Road, Darwood Road, Joyce Road, Northway and Southway.
Winsor Park Section, including roads near West Hartsdale Avenue, Hillcrest Road, North and South Washington avenues, Laurel Street, Fox Glen Drive, Pinewood Road, Homewood Road, Woods End Lane, Central Park Avenue, Maple Avenue and Beechwood Road.
Clubway Section, including roads near Old Colony Road, Fisher Street, Midvale Road and Club Way and Scarsdale Golf Course. Marion/Healy Section, including roads near Healy Avenue, Marion Avenue, Sunset View Lane, Keating Place, Townsend Avenue and Central Park Avenue.
Hartsdale Felds Section, including roads near East Hartsdale Avenue, Mercer Avenue, Rockledge Circle, Columbia Avenue, Wilson Street, Caterson Terrace, Charlotte Avenue, hickory Street, Holland Place and Oak Street.
Dalewood Drive Section, including roads near Dalewood Drive, Fieldstone Drive, Pinewood Road, Brookdale Drive and Central Park Avenue.
College Corners Section, including roads near Jane Avenue, Cornell Drive, Princeton Drive, Harvard drive, Andover Road, Alexander Avenue and Rutgers Place.
Pat Capone Road Section, including roads near Woodlands High School, Stone Oaks Drive, Pinegrove Lane, Old Cedar Lane and Dogwood Lane.
To avoid any inconvenience, monitor the water before doing any laundry and keep water in the refrigerator for drinking and cooking.
