Greenburgh, Elmsford Asked To Conserve Water

The shutdown is occurring because of high turbidity in the Catskill Aqueduct caused by recent storms.

Officials are asking residents to conserve by limiting non-essential water us,e including watering their lawns or washing their cars.

There is no boil water in effect. According to the DEP, water will be safe to drink throughout the conservation period, which is expected to last until Wednesday morning.
