Greenburgh Gets New Sign To Curb Speeding

GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Greenburgh Police Department is implementing a new way to control excessive speeding, by informing motorist of tickets given out the previous days in that location.

The Greenburgh Police Department hopes the new signs, posting how many tickets have recently been given, will get motorists to slow down.

The Police Department purchased a digital sign board and will be moving it to different location throughout the town. Police will conduct enforcement for a day or two then post on the sign how many tickets were written in prior days.

By highlighting the fact that the police are monitoring speeding on the street, the police hope to get motorists attention and have them slow down.

Residents may contact Town Supervisor Paul Feiner for street suggestions for the sign by email pfeiner@greenburghny.com
