Biomimicry is an emerging discipline that seeks sustainable solutions by emulating nature's designs and processes, representatives said.

"Biomimicry: Designing with the Wisdom of the Earth" starts at 7 p.m. at the Greenburgh Nature Center at 99 Dromore Road in Scarsdale. Students are invited to watch the talk that Janine Benyus delivered at the 2012 Bioneers Conference in California.

The program is presented in partnership with the Sierra Club Lower Hudson Group and is designed for adults and high school students.

Benyus is a biologist, innovation consultant, and author of six books, including "Biomimicry: Innovation Inspired by Nature."
