As baseball and summer go hand in hand, Greenburgh's Parks and Recreation Department is proud to offer their Xtra Effort Baseball/Softball Camp.
Beginning on Monday, children ages 5 through 13 can learn how to swing a bat, throw a ball and slide into home base.
"There is definitely the desire and the need for this sport and for the camp," said Robert Kaczmarek, recreation supervisor.
Morning sessions will consist of technique drills, including pitching, hitting, and infield and outfield play. During afternoon sessions, the participants will play modified games, divided by age group and skill level.
While the number of participants vary every year due to availability of other camps, there has consistently been dedicated and hard-working athletes anxious to play.
"With baseball and softball players, when they want to play, they'll find a way," Kaczmarek said.
Registration is open until Friday. Visit Greenburgh's website to print out an application. The camp will take place at Rumbrook Park.
