GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Greenburgh Police found a man dead on the side of Payne Road, near the intersection of Bayberry Road in the Elmsford on Wednesday morning in what appears to be a suicide, police officials said.
The man appeared to have sustained a a single gunshot wound to the head and paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene, police officials said.
Greenburgh detectives conducted an investigation. No foul play is indicated at this time and it appears to be a suicide, pending autopsy results, police officials said.
The deceased man was 70 years old and is a resident of Greenburgh. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, police said.
