Greenburgh Police: No Brotherly Love in White Plains Home

GREENBURGH, N.Y. – A pair of sneakers ignited more than just a friendly sibling rivalry among two White Plains brothers, Greenburgh police said.

Police said Travon Taylor, 31, went on a rampage, punching his brother and threatening him with broken glass after an argument over a pair of shoes just before 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 12.

Taylor started the argument in their father’s White Plains home, police said, and when his brother tried to hide in his room, Taylor kicked in the door and began punching him.

The brother was able to escape, running to another room and locking the door. That’s when Taylor went into the kitchen and began breaking pots and pans before breaking a glass bottle, according to police.

He kicked in the door to the room his brother was hiding in and threated him with a broken piece of glass, police said. When the brothers began fighting again, police said that Taylor picked up a pot and hit his brother on the head before fleeing the home.

Taylor was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony.
