Greenburgh Police Respond to Child's Concern

GREENBURGH, N.Y. – A man contacted Greenburgh Police to report two suspicious men who turned out to be employees of a power company.

The man contacted police at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday after his 12-year-old daughter told him that two men were knocking on the door of their house for approximately 10 minutes. The man said his daughter was home by herself and became uneasy because of the knocking.

Two officers went to the home, checked the outside area and determined that everything seemed normal. They also spoke to the girl, who described the men as African-American wearing black coats and one had a cell phone earpiece.

Police searched the area and found the two men nearby. They said they were going door-to-door distributing information about the power company for which they work.

They provided documentation from both the town and their company.  Police then contacted the father to tell him what they had learned.
