Greenburgh Taste Off Raises Funds For School Groups

GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- The fifth annual Greenburgh Taste Off, a local fundraising event hosted by the the Woodlands Falcons Nest Booster Club and Woodlands Middle and High School Parent Teacher Associations, will showcase the food of local restaurants, caterers and businesses on Saturday, April 25.

The event will be held from noon-3 p.m. at the Woodlands High School gymnasiums at 475 W. Hartsdale Ave., Hartsdale.

This year’s honorees include: Scott Castle, Woodlands Middle School; Mary Cronin, Lee F. Jackson School; Patricia Frost, Highview School; Valerie Galdau, Highview School; Douglas Scarinci, Richard J. Bailey School; Susan Sheppard, Lee F. Jackson School; and Kristine Townsend, Lee F. Jackson School.

To date, 30 restaurants, caterers and businesses have signed on as participants. They include: Adal Mini Market and Deli, American & Spanish Food, Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza, Claudia the Avon Lady, Belchers Catering, Bellesweets, Braza Roja Charcoal Rotisserie, Century 21 Schneider Realty, Subomi Macaulay, Chef EL-AMIN Caterers, Delish Dishes Catering, LLC, Doctors Express, Frank’s Food Court, Fruit Cakes and More, Game On 365 Sports LLC, G.O.O.D. for Girls Inc., Greenburgh Police Department, Hartsdale Fire Department, Jake’s Wayback Burgers, Lula Pearl Natural Hair and Skin Care, MD Express, Westchester’s Urgent Care, Mrs. Green’s Natural Market, Next Choice Living Inc., NY Firehouse Grille, Party Line Tent Rentals, Prudential, Leroy Jones — Financial Professional, The Ambitious Soul — Business and Career Coaching, Rita’s of Elmsford, Rudy’s Food, Sports & Entertainment, Sun Splash Caribbean Bakery and Restaurant, Theodore D. Young Community Center, Trader Joe’s, Greenburgh School District Board of Education and Administration and more. 

Twenty percent of the proceeds will go toward student-athlete scholarships, 20 percent to the Woodlands Middle & High School PTSAs, 5 percent to the Friends of the Greenburgh Library, 5 percent to the Shirley Schwarz Memorial Fund at the Lois Bronz Children’s Center and the balance to Falcons Nest Booster Club. 

Advance ticket purchases are $10 for students (K-12) and $20 for adults. At the door, tickets will be $15 and $25, respectively. To purchase, tickets visit eventbrite.com or call 914-703-2615.
