GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- The Town of Greenburgh has set up an emergency operating center to deal with Hurricane Irene. Based at the Greenburgh police headquarters on Tarrytown Road, the center will open Sunday at 6 a.m., when its believed the storm will reach its peak, police said.
Emergency cases, however, will be handled throughout the night as they come, police said.
People can call 911 anytime, said Sgt. Thomas Maguire of the Greenburgh Police Department.
On the other side, the town is urging residents not to call 911 unless its an emergency. The number for non-emergency cases is 914-682-5300.
