According to a report by Town Supervisor Paul Feiner, the planned Game On 365 sports facility a 93,500-square foot recreational facility, with the specific design of that facility is to be determined and subject to town approval.

Residents voted in favor of having a sports facility in the Frank's Nursery property last November 6. The proposed business will offer opportunity for year-round soccer, lacrosse, and other sports on the abandoned property.

"The town of Greenburgh extracted many concessions from Game On during the negotiations," Feiner said in his statement. "We are going to sell the property for $3 million, which is two times the fair market value."

Feiner said the town we will  receive $1.7 million from Game On with no conditions with the balance of the $3 million ($1.3 million) after the closing. Game On will be responsible for all the environmental cleanup and will pay all the taxes on the property. No tax breaks have been offered.

The proposed contract of sale is posted on the town website.

Feiner added that the option of leasing the land was considered but that a law suit by competitor House of Sports (Ardsley) claimed that the foreclosed land could not be leased.

"The litigation would have gone on for years with no certain outcome," Feiner stated. "We did not want to put the sports facility on hold for years."
