HARTSDALE, N.Y A Hartsdale woman had her car keys stolen from inside her apartment and her car taken from in front of a building on Pinewood Road sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning.
Anne Giordano, 53, said she and her daughter Kaeli, 20, went to bed around midnight and when they woke up the next morning they found the offices window wide open and the screen off. Her daughters purse was missing from a table in the foyer, along with her and her daughters sets of keys. She said her daughters wallet was inside the purse, but there wasnt any money in it, only a credit card.
When they went outside, they realized that one of their cars, a white 2010 Toyota Scion, was missing. The other, a Honda, was still parked on the other side of the building, she said.
The Greenburgh police said they arrived to Giordano's call about five minutes after she called police at 9:11 a.m.
The offices window was left eight inches open the night before, according to the police report, although Giordano said it was two or three inches at most and that it was locked.
Its August and I need air in my apartment. Thats why I had the window open, Giordano said.
She added that she felt victimized and freaky to think that there was somebody inside her apartment.
The police didnt give Giordano any news about her car Monday, she said.
