HARTSDALE, N.Y. -- Hartsdale runner Brian Wilantowicz finished his run at the Boston Marathon Monday before two explosions ended the event.
"My wife and daughter were watching near where the bombings occurred, but fortunately we left the area a little after 2 p.m., before it happened," Wilantowicz said. "It went from a very happy day to a very sad day very quickly. My heart goes out to the victims .I am blessed that my family is okay."
Wilantowicz crossed the finish line in a time of 3:07.41, more than an hour before the explosions occurred.
Three people died and more than 150 were injured in the bombings.
