The members of American Legion Post 1195 announced that the flag deposit box is available at the Legion Hall at 215 Farragut Ave. in Hastings-on-Hudson. Residents are encouraged to drop off tattered or weathered flags in the box so that they may be disposed of properly through a flag retirement ceremony, representatives said.

The flag-retirement ceremony is held every Flag Day at 5 p.m. at the Legion Hall.
