WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A mammoth construction crane named 'I Lift NY' from San Francisco has arrived to assist in the Tappan Zee Bridge replacement project, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal.
The crane will allow constructors to pre-create sections of the bridge off-site, place them on-site, then lift them into place, according to the report.
The 328-foot crane can lift up to 1,900 tons, and the use of the crane is estimated to cost $50 million, according to the report.
