It's Arts Season Again at Greenburgh Tdycc

GREENBURGH, N.Y. — The Theodore D. Young Community Center will begin Saturday, Oct. 8, the 10th season of its arts program, featuring classes of dance, ballet, belly dance, creative drum, creative movement, drawing for kids, creative writing workshops and women fitness.

“The idea is to provide the Town of Greenburgh residents of all ages with a chance to experience arts first hand,” said Norma Barnes, the center’s activities coordinator.

Barnes, who is a dancer and a dance teacher, said that she pushed the program toward dancing activities because dancing is a great way for people to learn about arts, not to mention the physical benefits.

“We don’t move around as much as we should,” she said.

The program is open to all people ages three and older. Registration fees range from $25 to $100, depending on the class.
