Kellogg Recalls Certain Graham Products

Residents with peanut allergies should check any Kellogg Company graham crumbs associated with SpartanNash's cheesecakes due to some of their products being made with Grain Craft flour which may have contained undeclared allergen peanut residue.

The Kellogg Company is recalling its Spartan Fresh Selections Cheesecakes which may contain peanuts in the graham cracker.

The company is voluntarily recalling the products, although, to date, there have been no reported illnesses related to the affected product.

The affected graham cracker crumbs were used in certain lots of cheesecakes produced in SpartanNash's Central Kitchen facility. The items had a sell by date of June 6-21, 2016, and they are no longer in the stores.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has stated that the amount of peanut exposure from the flour is low and not expected to cause adverse health effects in the vast majority of peanut allergic consumers. Consumers with severe peanut allergies should avoid the recalled products.

These are the recalled products:

  • Spartan Fresh Selections Cherry Cheesecake; 5 ounces, lot number: 6/6/2016 – 6/21/2016 (sell by date); UPC: 11213-03462, Spartan code #595
  • Spartan Fresh Selections Strawberry Cheesecake; 5 ounces; lot number: 6/6/2016 – 6/21/2016 (sell by date); UPC: 11213-03463, Spartan code: #596
  • Spartan Fresh Selections Blueberry Cheesecake; 5 ounces; lot number: 6/6/2016 – 6/21/2016 (sell by date); UPC: 11213-03464, Spartan code: #597

Out of an abundance of caution, SpartanNash sent a notice to its “yes” Rewards Card holders who may have purchased a recalled item. SpartanNash is offering a full refund. Consumers should return the product to the store where the item was purchased.
