Man Hurt in Second Hit-and-Run Case This Week

GREENBURGH, N.Y. –  A 48-year-old man was injured Wednesday when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver.

Heliodoro Ocequera, 48, was in the gas station at the corner of West Hartsdale Avenue and Dobbs Ferry Road when he was sideswiped on his left side by an unidentified silver vehicle that fled the scene, police said.

The accident was the second hit-and-run case in the town this week. On Monday, an unknown driver hit a parked Honda Accord in front of Frank’s Café on East Main Street.

Ocequera was taken to the Westchester Medical Center at Valhalla. A spokesman for the hospital said Friday afternoon that he no longer appeared on the list of patients, a sign that he had been discharged.

“I don’t believe his injuries were too bad,” said Greenburgh Chief of Police Joseph DeCarlo.

The driver was described only as a male white about 30 years old, DeCarlo said.

Did you witness this incident? Police are asking for anyone who could identify the driver to contact the Greenburgh Police Department at 914-682-5339.
