Indiana Police and other law enforcement organizations and Spierer's parents Rob and Charlene continue to search for Spierer, who disappeared without a trace. The Edgemont High School graduate was 20 at the time. Spierer's father Robert told FoxNews in April that not knowing what happened to their daughter adds to the tragic loss. The family has established a Facebook page and a website to help keep the search for Lauren alive. We’re experiencing a terrible strain," Spierer told FoxNews. "We miss Lauren terribly and not knowing makes it all the worse for us. We think about her every day and we talk about her every day. It’s not any easier today than it was two years ago."
There have been several false leads and the discovery of human remains in a remote area of Indiana earlier this year to be the remains of a 26-year-old woman who went missing in April 2012, according to a report made public by Brown County Chief Deputy Coroner Earl Piper on April 25.
Bloomington Police confirmed last week that they continue to actively investigate the case, but no arrests have been made to date.
"Since the time of Lauren's disappearance on June 3, 2011, the Bloomington Police Department has continued its ongoing effort to provide answers to Lauren's family and the Bloomington community," Capt. Joe Qualters said in a statement. "Despite being nearly two years into this investigation, information continues to come in regarding Lauren's case and investigators diligently pursue the information with the same level of commitment as in the beginning."
