YONKERS, N.Y. – An investigation into a suspicious note found at Sacred Heart High School on Thursday found no credible threat, according to the Yonkers Police Department.
Members of the Intelligence Unit and Youth Division began an investigation and an extensive search was subsequently conducted inside of the school after a handwritten note with possible threats was found in a classroom.
The note was found to be a handwritten exchange between two students. The note was mistakenly left behind in the classroom by students and subsequently brought to the attention of a teacher, officials say.
No student names were written in the note and the exchange between the students stated they did not intend for anyone else to view the note, according to police.
After a thorough investigation with school administrators, no credible threat was found and there will be no criminal charges filed at this time, police say.
