GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- A 44-year-old woman was allegedly abducted and sexually assaulted Tuesday night in Elmsford, police said.
The victim, who is a Greenburgh resident, was walking around 8:40 p.m. along Cabot Avenue near the Massaro Park when a man wearing a white T-shirt and driving a four-door red sedan approached her, police said. The man, described as a light-skin Hispanic about 30 to 35 years old, ordered her into the car and drove to a secluded spot near Sprain Road and Austin Avenue, where he sexually assaulted her, police said.
After convincing her assaulter to let her go, the woman walked to Home Depot at 601 Sprain Rd. and called the police. She was taken to Saint Josephs Medical Center in Yonkers, where she was treated and discharged, police said.
Lt. Brian Ryan, of the Greenburgh Police Department, said that special counselors will talk to the victim and gather the necessary evidence for the investigation.
The next stage is to check the area where the incident happened and look for that red car, he said.
The police is asking for anyone who has any information about the suspect or the vehicle to contact the Greenburgh Police Department at one of the following phone numbers,
