R.J. Bailey Students Learn About Dance During Black History Month

GREENBURGH, N.Y. – Students at the Richard J. Bailey School in White Plains worked with the famous Dance Theatre of Harlem recently to learn about dance, history of dance and how it pertains to black history.

Teaching artists Theara Ward, Zalika Warren and Lettie Battle explained the African diaspora to students and played dancing games to help them understand how the migration of African-Americans from the southern U.S to the northeast impacted families, communities and American culture.
