Snow Angels Needed In Greenburgh To Assist Seniors, Disabled

GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- With the arrival of the cold weather, the town of Greenburgh is seeking snow angels who will assist seniors and disabled residents to clear their driveways of snow after storms.

The snow angels program was started more than 20 years ago and depends on volunteers. The program is calling for volunteers who will not charge a fee to help clear driveways and those who are willing to help seniors for a fee.

To volunteer or if you are a senior in need of help this winter season, email pfeiner@greenburghny.com with your name and phone number. Student volunteers will receive certificates of appreciation and letters of recommendation when applying for jobs/colleges.

In the email, advise if you are willing to help those who reside throughout the town or only in a neighborhood close to your home. Also indicate the neighborhood, if you would like to be matched with one family and be responsible for the entire winter months or if you would like to volunteer occasionally without taking on the responsibility of helping one family.
