GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Due to anticipated snowy weather Friday evening, The Town of Greenburgh Police Department has declared a snow emergency until 6 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17.

Latest projections for the storm system that will arrive in the area overnight predict some parts of the Lower Hudson Valley could see 6 inches of snow accumulation.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from midnight until Saturday afternoon. The advisory states that periods of snow will cause travel difficulties and that residents should be prepared for snow-covered roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving.

During the emergency, parking will be prohibited at all metered parking spaces on East Hartsdale Avenue and Columbia Avenue between the hours of 1 and 6 a.m.

Residents are reminded that limited parking will be available at the Webb Field parking lot on North Central Avenue.

For additional information, contact the Greenburgh police at 914-989-1740.
