Television Series 'Believe' Films In Hastings

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Hastings-on-Hudson Metro-North train station was being used as a film set Monday by producers of the upcoming television series "Believe."

Mexican director/writer/producer Alfonso Cuaron, best known for "Y Tu Mamá También", "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban", "Children of Men" (2006), and most recently "Gravity", is behind the fantasy adventure series that is due to be broadcast early in 2014 on NBC television.

"Believe" is about a young girl, Bo (Johnny Sequoyah), with supernatural powers and her connection to a wrongfully convicted (and recently released) death-row inmate Tate, played by Jake McLaughlin), who is employed to protect her.

Members of the film crew set up lighting and sets at the Metro-North platform and in front of the Station Cafe above the train station and along Southside Avenue Monday for "a one day shoot..

Parking along Maple Avenue and Southside was restricted where film crew trucks and equipment were being staged.

The train station area was unusually quiet Monday as commuters were forced to use alternative transportation into New York City with the Hudson Line out of service due to Sunday's train derailment in the Bronx.
