ELMSFORD, N.Y. -- Ten second-hand radiators were stolen from Res-com Heating & Air-Conditioning in Elmsford, police said.
Res-com part-owner Steven Straface called the villages police Thursday at 8:35 a.m. to report the theft, police records show. Officer Marvin Erik, who responded the call, said that he believed the thieves wanted to sell the radiators as scrap metal.
Straface said that the 10 radiators, whose total value he estimated at $3,500, were stored outside the companys building on West Main Street. He added that, although other things have been stolen during the 10 years the business has been there, it doesnt happen often.
Its definitely not an ongoing thing, he said.
Straface also had no complaints about the police patrolling of the area.
Cops come here all the time. They watched the place, but they cant be here 24/7, he said.
