Tyrone Lewis, the driver of a ready-mix concrete truck, pulled over on the shoulder of Route 9A to duck into a gas station for a medicine that could treat his toothache, according to News 12, which reported that when Lewis returned, his truck was stuck in mud left by heavy rains.

Fearing the vehicle might tip over, Lewis called for a tow, which caused backups along Route 9A while crews worked to remove the truck, according to News 12.
