MT. KISCO, N.Y. – The United States Professional Tennis Association Eastern Division has added a charitable component to its TennisFest 2012 on Sunday, May 20 at the Saw Mill Club in Mt. Kisco.

USPTA Eastern has partnered with Let’s Play It Forward to collect used sports equipment at the event. The former will then work with the USTA to distribute the equipment to groups and organizations in need.

Bill Mecca, executive director of USPTA Eastern, said via email that collection boxes will be on site at the event to collect the equipment.

Longtime friends John Lombardi, Chris Abatecola and others from Somers started the nonprofit Let’s Play It Forward in February when Lombardi cleaned out his garage and realized he had extra equipment.
