HARTSDALE, N.Y. -- The injunction Verizon filed in court last week against striking union members is showing its effects in Hartsdale.
While last week dozens of people picketed right in front of the companys wireless store on Central Park Avenue, Thursday only 10 strikers were seen at the same spot. The majority had to picket outside the plaza where the store is located, just by the street. Thats because the injunction limited the number of picketers who can be close to Verizon worksites.
But the new setup didnt prove so bad, at least for the protestors.
Waving signs that read Honk for support, they managed to increase the noise level in the area, with a passing car honking at every few seconds.
Actually more people see us here, said field technician Kevin Campo, 40, one of the leaders of the picket and a 20-year Verizon employee.
If you pass by the plaza on Central Park Avenue where the Verizon strikers are picketing, will you honk for support? You can answer in Facebook .
