Weather Slows Tappan Zee Bridge Construction Project

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- The recent bout of subfreezing temperatures has slowed progress on the new Tappan Zee Bridge, according to News 12 Westchester.

Crews are still able to do some work during the cold snap like inspections, adjusting mooring lines and occasionally some additional pile driving, News 12 Westchester reported. 

Officials anticipated New York's brutal winters when planning the construction and left a two-month window in the timetable to account for weather conditions, News 12 Westchester said.
