GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- From concerts to food taste-offs, here’s what’s happening in Greenburgh this weekend.

Friday, April 27

Free Tree Seedlings: All day: April 27 is recognized as Arbor Day in the Town of Greenburgh. Visitors to town hall are encouraged to visit Town Forestry Officer Aaron Schmidt at his office in the Department of Community Development and Conservation on the second floor. Feel free to ask questions, pick up educational materials and take a free tree seedling home to plant with your children or grandchildren while supplies last. For more information, contact Schmidt directly at 993-1511 or aschmidt@greenburgnny.com . The Greenburgh Town Hall is located at 177 Hillside Ave.

Game Tool kit: 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Starting with Smash Brothers, children in grades six through 12 will learn how to create levels and boards for Wii games. The Greenburgh Public Library is located at 300 East Main St. in Elmsford.

Vote for the Best Food in Greenburgh: 12 p.m.  to 3 p.m. Pick the best foods of the town during the second annual Greenburgh Taste Off benefit event. Eighteen Greenburgh eateries will serve everything from eggplant parmigiana, to fish and ribs plus a variety of desserts during the event. For the first time, tasters will be able to vote for and select the foods via wireless electronic devices supplied by Verizon. The event will honor four district veteran employees and raise money for middle and high School students and the Food Bank of Westchester. El Día de los Niños at Family Festival: 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.  Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson, Inc., with special assistance from the Greenburgh/Elmsford Girl Scout Service Unit, will be conducting a free family festival celebrating all children. Known as El Día de los Niños, the family-oriented festival will feature a variety of activities and exhibits. Entertainment will include music provided by DJ Rick as well as performances and dance workshops conducted by Latin dancer Elliot Castro. A variety of exhibitors will be on hand as well as the fire and police departments. Located at Deluca Park at the corner of North Hillside Avenue and Frontage Street in Elmsford.

RiverArts 2012 Studio Tour: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is a free self-guided tour of private studios and galleries featuring the work of renowned and emerging artists in Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry, Hastings and Irvington. Maps detailing tour locations and more information can be found on the RiverArts website . The event continues on Sunday as well.

Westchester Choral Society Spring and 70th Anniversary Concert: 3 p.m. This blending of choral and orchestral skill became the central work of Brahms' career, establishing him as a composer of major stature. A gala reception and silent auction will follow. Tickets are $25, $10 for students with id. For tickets and information, visit the choral society's website . Irvington High School in located at 40 North Broadway in Irvington.

Third Annual NY Super Adoption: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The third annual NY Super Adoption will feature hundreds of cats, kittens, dogs, puppies and rabbits will be available for adoption. Anyone interested in volunteering should email tammyh@bestfriends.org . The event is free. The Westchester County Center is located at 198 Central Ave. in White Plains.

A Weekend Story time : 11 a.m. Join Naturalist Greg Wechgelaer for Story time based on the popular Nature Bugs class held Monday afternoons. The hour includes a story, animals, craft and activity, all based on a common nature theme. Recommended for children ages two through six. The cost is $5 for members and $8 for non-members or $25 for a family. The Greenburgh Nature Center is located at 99 Dromore Road in Scarsdale.
