GREENBURGH, N.Y. - From card shows to cleanups, here’s what’s happening in Greenburgh this weekend.

Friday, May 11

"Les Miserables" (school edition): 7:30 p.m. Part manhunt, part romance, part revolutionary drama, "Les Miserables" tells the tale of Jean Valjean, a Frenchman imprisoned for 19 years because he stole some bread so his family wouldn’t starve. Released from prison, he becomes an honest man and a loving adoptive father but violates his parole. Consequently, the relentless Inspector Javert pursues him, making a decent life impossible. Only after Valjean proves his mettle during a bloody student uprising and saves the life of a young man hopelessly in love with his adopted daughter does the ex-convict finally feel fully redeemed. The Tony Award-winning musical has been adapted to meet the needs of young performers while maintaining its integrity. The Irvington Town Hall Theatre is located at 85 Main St., Irvington.

Baseball Card Show: 2 to 8 p.m.  Join JP's Sports and Rock Solid Promotions for the annual “Spring Fever Show.” More than 300 tables will be present along with graders and authentication. Cost is $7 for adults, children under 12 are free. The Westchester County Center is located at 198 Central Ave., White Plains.

Elmsford School District’s Muffins for Mom: 8 a.m. Grab a muffin with mom at in honor of moms and Mother’s Day. The Carl Dixson School is located at 22 S. Hillside Ave., Elmsford.

Saturday, May 12

3rd Annual Great Saw Mill River Clean-Up: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Join neighbors and friends at one of 10 sites throughout the Saw Mill River Watershed for the 2012 Great Saw Mill River Clean-Up and Vine-Cutting. 10 sites around Westchester County.

Great Planting for Great Pollinators and Beneficial Insects: 10 to 11:30 a.m. Did you know that more than 97 percent of insects are beneficial to the environment or completely harmless? Learn how to attract the “good bugs” to your yard by planting the right mix of native plants. The Greenburgh Nature Center is located at 99 Dromore Road, Scarsdale.

Third Annual Westchester County Amateur Photo Contest: 2 p.m. Check out the winner of the annual photo contest. Refreshments will be served. The Greenburgh Public Library is located at 300 E. Main St., Elmsford.

Sunday, May 13

Bird House Series #2: 11 a.m. Join Senior Naturalist Dean Fausel as he monitors house wren nest boxes. Help inspect the boxes and see whether they had nesting birds. Come join the fun, even if you missed the initial program. The cost is $5 for members, $8 for nonmembers or $25 for the entire family. The Greenburgh Nature Center is located at 99 Dromore Road, Scarsdale.
