Elmsford Memorial Day Parade: 10:30 a.m. The village's 82nd annual parade will begin at Legion Park on Main Street and will be followed by a gathering next to Village Hall in Belway Electric's parking lot.
Hartsdale Fire Department Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony: 10 a.m. The ceremony will be held at the Hartsdale Train Station, followed by a parade. The parade will march up East Hartsdale Avenue to the Four Corners, continuing south on Central Avenue to Hartsdale Fire Station #1. The Hartsdale Train Station is at 1 East Hartsdale Avenue.
Fairview Fire Department Memorial Day Parade: 11 a.m. The parade will begin at the department's headquarters and proceed down Tarrytown Road to a memorial at the Greenburgh Police Station. There will be a small ceremony at the memorial before returning to the Fairview Fire Department for a closing ceremony. The Fairview Fire Department is at 19 Rosemont Boulevard, White Plains.
Anthony F. Veteran Park Pool Opening: 10 a.m. The town pool will be open from 10 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. Monday. Anthony F. Veteran Park is at 11 Olympic Lane in Ardsley.

Town Board Work Session: 9:30 a.m. Although no legislative action is usually taken in these meetings, the board is expected to discuss a number of resolutions. The Greenburgh Town Hall auditorium is at 177 Hillside Ave., Greenburgh.
Greenburgh Central School District 7 Board of Education Work Session: 6:30 p.m. Although no legislative action is usually taken in these meetings, the board is expected to discuss a district-wide emergency management plan. Woodlands High School is at 475 W. Hartsdale Ave., in Hartsdale.

Sketch Book Lecture: Learn how to Draw/Paint a Portrait: 7 p.m. Art Demonstration using techniques of contemporary artists. Open to Teens and Adults. Facilitator: Kate Colquitt, librarian. Edgemont Detective Discussion: 7:30 p.m. Detective Nicholas Parikka of the Greenburgh Police Department, who is also an Edgemont High School graduate, will be speaking to the current juniors, seniors, and their parents about campus safety in a college setting. Following the event, there will be a short demonstration on basic self-defense. The aim of this event will be to promote safety in college as well as raise continuous awareness about Lauren Spierer. Speier, an Edgemont High graduate in 2009, was a student at Indiana University when she went missing last year and has not been found. At the event, the participants will be asked to donate a small entrance fee at the door. These funds will then be donated to the findLauren foundation. In addition, light blue ribbons and FindLauren bracelets will be distributed at the door. The Candle Light Inn has agreed to donate 10% of proceeds made by anyone who orders in from candlelight and mentions the Lauren Spierer Campus Safety Event to the Find Lauren Fund. Edgemont High School is at 200 White Oak Lane in Scarsdale.

Daring to Care: Raising Good Citizens in a Competitive World: 7:30 p.m. At this workshop, parents will learn about the practical implications of helping adolescents develop empathy for their peers, classmates and those in need. They will also learn strategies for encouraging caring behaviors at home and in school, and about outreach activities in the community. Paul J. Donahue, who will lead discussions, is a nationally recognized clinical psychologist and speaker in the field of parenting and childrens mental health. The Edgemont High School LGI room is at 200 White Oak Lane in Scarsdale.
