Where Does Greenburgh Volunteer on Martin Luther King Day?

Martin Luther King Day is a day to remember the leadership, hard work and martyrdom of the slain civil rights leader. It is also a federal holiday and national day of volunteerism. Next Monday, January 16 is the date for this year's memorial.

Churches, schools, clubs and organizations nationwide create volunteer missions to celebrate King's life. King believed in living up to one's potential. In 1994, the U.S. Congress proclaimed Jan. 16 to be a national day of service for Americans to give up their day to help others.
