The City of White Plains Building Department received complaints about possible infestation of insects, rats, vermin or other pests, according to Karen Pasquale, senior advisor to Mayor Thomas Roach.

The Building Department investigated those complaints and issued a Notice of Violation to the Cinema de Lux on Wednesday, Pasquale said.

The Building Department has spoken with the move theater operator, "who has a regular pest management program in place, and has been advised that they are taking the additional, necessary measures to address the conditions for which they have been cited,'' Pasquale said.

The Notice of Violation gives the operator 30 days to address the violation. If it is determined that after that time, the violation was not addressed or remedied, the City will issue a summons, Pasquale said.

Calls to the cinema were referred to Rachel Lulay, a spokeswoman for National Amusements, which owns the complex of 15 movie theaters.
