Woodlands HS in Academic Battle on TV's "Challenge"

GREENBURGH, N.Y. – Is Woodlands High School smarter than Tuckahoe High School? Members from each school are putting that question to the test on the educational quiz show "The Challenge."

On Wednesday five senior students from Woodlands High School – Shane Burke, Kata Kozma, Dahlia McGill, Liza Sukra and Samuel Washington III – will appear on TV and be quizzed in math, science, history, current events and arts and literature. "The Challenge" aims to showcase the smartest students throughout the county as they battle to academic victory.

The Woodlands lineup, all members of the Academic Challenge Team, was coached by their advisor Samuel Washington Jr.

While "The Challenge" was taped in Manhattan on Oct. 26, Greenburgh can cheer for their hometown students this week. The quiz show will be shown on the big screen in the Woodlands auditorium at 6:30 p.m. It will also air on Cablevision channel 14 (614 HD) and rebroadcast Saturday and Sunday on News 12 at 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
