Angela Marie Ann Raffa, 83, Of Elmsford, Worked For Sonotone

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. - Angela Marie Ann Raffa, a longtime Dobbs Ferry resident, died Tuesday, June 18. She was 83.

Raffa was born in New York City she moved to Dobbs Ferry, in 1938. She was the daughter of Rosario "Willie" and Carmela "Millie" DiDonato. She graduated from Dobbs Ferry High School in 1947. She worked in many different jobs throughout her lifetime including, Sonotone in Elmsford;  school crossing guard; religious education teacher; worked the polls during election days, babysitting, and was an office assistant to McCormick & Thornton, Esq. in Dobbs Ferry for many years. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Pompeii Church.

Raffa is survived by her children, Stanley Raffa, Jr., Gary (Margaret) Raffa and Daryl (Marc) Sudlow ; five grandchildren; siblings, Gertrude Bauer and Joseph (Elizabeth) DiDonato; two sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; and husband, Stanley Paul Raffa.

Calling hours are Tuesday, June 25 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, June 26 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, June 27 at Our Lady of Pompeii Church, Dobbs Ferry.
