She grew up in Manhattan, N.Y. and New Canaan, Conn. After she graduated from The Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., she attended Smith College in Northampton, Mass., graduating with a B.A. in History.

When Anne married Joseph Gatti, Jr., previously deceased in 2008, at 29, she decided to earn a Masters in Library Science at Columbia University. After expanding her family to three daughters, Madeline, Barbara and Elizabeth, she decided to share her skills as a volunteer librarian for the library in the Town of Greenburgh, N.Y., where she lived. Later on, she volunteered for the Westchester County Legislature and the Town of Greenburgh Board of Supervisors, specifically for Paul Feiner, as a community liaison. Her significant work and contribution to the community were recognized publicly by the Greenburgh Central 7 School District, the Town of Greenburgh and the Westchester County Legislature on a number of occasions. She was completely devoted to her family and community.

She was kind and generous and a little silly. Anne continued to explore the world with her family throughout her life, visiting much of the United States, Europe, Asia, South America and the Middle East. A trip to Africa was one of the highlights. Anne's children wish to express their gratitude to friends and others who have helped and supported their family throughout the years. After her husband passed away in 2008, Anne left friends and family in Westchester County, N.Y., where she had lived for almost 50 years of her life. She moved to Tampa to be close to Barbara, her middle daughter. While in Tampa, she spent time every day with her grand-dog, Simon, the therapy dog.

Anne is survived by her three daughters and their spouses, her three grandchildren and her sister, Dr. Elizabeth Hawkins. Anne will be honored at a celebration in Hartsdale, N.Y. in June, 2015.
