Christopher M. Scaperrotta, 89, Longtime Dobbs Ferry And Ardsley Resident

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. -- Christopher M. Scaperrotta, a lifelong resident of Dobbs Ferry and Ardsley, died on Tuesday, Feb. 16. He was 89.

Born and raised in Dobbs Ferry, Scaperrotta was a Navy veteran of the Korean War era. He managed his family business, Scappy's Harmony Inn until it was sold, in 2000. He loved dancing, going to the theater, dinning out and traveling. He was an avid golfer, bowler and swimmer.

"He was the happiest when he was surrounded by his friends and family, especially children," according to information provided by Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home. "Chris always greeted you with his million dollar smile and enjoyed life to its fullest."

Scaperrotta is survived by his wife of 67 years, Frances; daughters Christine Cerone, Joanne Saporta and Ann Marie D'Aliso; grandchildren Jennifer, Kristi, Neal and Nicole; great-grandchildren Luke, Lia, Trey and Naomi; brothers John and Robert; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Christopher and Anna Marie "Nannie" Scaperrotta; brothers Dominick and Edward; and grandson Patrick.

Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 19, at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home, 64 Ashford Ave., in Dobbs Ferry. A mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20, at Our Lady of Pompeii Church, in Dobbs Ferry.
