Edward F. Zekus, 92, Of Irvington, Employed With The Village Of Ardsley

IRVINGTON, N.Y. - Edward F. Zekus, a longtime resident of Irvington, died Oct. 22. He was 92.

Zekus was born April 14, 1921, in Tarrytown, son of Charles and Mary Zekus. After serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, he had a long career with the Village of Ardsley. He worked for the highway department, having retired as foreman.

Zekus is survived by his daughters, Sharon Murphy of Congers and Shirley Zekus of White Plains; and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Susie (Variano); and his siblings.

Calling hours are Thursday, Oct. 24 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Coffey Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25 at St. Teresa of Avila Church with interment to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
