ELMSFORD, N.Y. - Ellen Lynn Hershey of Elmsford died Aug. 2. She was 53.
Hershey was born March 30, 1960, to Isveno and Joan Maccarni of Stamford. A lifelong New Yorker, she was born and raised in the Bronx. She attended the College of New Rochelle and spent over 20 years as a professional at the Greenburgh Public Library.
Hershey is survived by her parents; her sister Donna and brother-in-law, Stan Berizzi of Stamford, Connecticut and brother, Robert Maccarni of Austin, Texas, her beloved dog and constant companion, Sophie and her cat Jake. Ellen was pre-deceased by her husband Mark Hershey.In recent years she shared her home with her caring friend John Cristello.
Calling hours are Tuesday, Aug. 6 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien, Connecticut. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug.7 at Lawrence Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Hershey's name to the Greenburgh Public Library Foundation, Children's Room, 300 Tarrytown Road, Elmsford, New York 10523.
